Prerequisites: 12th level, Giff

Your exploits are legendary within the Cult of the Blackaxe. You may attempt to challenge the High Ikons to gain recognition as one of the Pillars of the Way of the Blackaxe. You gain the following benefits.

  • The Metal. Your Strength and Constitution scores each increase by 1. You may now craft any firearm available according to the Stoneborn Gunsmith trait, as if you were a dwarf.

  • The Final Showdown. The next time you reach a port, you will meet with a High Ikon of Jakkar who has been chosen to test your Metal. You will engage in combat with the High Ikon. Other High Ikons will serve as witness to this trial, and if you defeat the High Ikon you will be recognized as a High Ikon. The trial is to the death, and the High Ikon’s soul is bound to his True Blackaxe.

  • The Axe of Destiny. If you defeat the High Ikon, you may exchange your Greater Blackaxe for the True Blackaxe of the High Ikon you defeated. You earn the title of High Ikon, and wield a True Blackaxe. The power of Jakkar clearly shines through this divine weapon of war.

Twas I Who Fucked The Dragon. :: In addition to the features present on the Greater Blackaxe, the True Blackaxe can fire all three barrels with a single action at one target once per turn.

Rise of the Pheonix. :: The True Blackaxe forms a mystical bond with its wielder. If the wielder dies by any means, the power of the True Blackaxe restores them to half of their maximum hitpoints and delays their death for 1 hour. If the wielder of the True Blackaxe kills or destroys that which was responsible for its death, it will be restored to its full hitpoints and will no longer die. However, if the wielder does not kill or destroy that which was responsible, it dies without a saving throw and cannot be ressurected by any means in its current form. However, its soul is bonded to the True Blackaxe. If it is ever used to destroy that which was resposible for its demise, it may immediately be resurrected 10ft from the current wielder with full hit points.

Metal Blackaxe. :: The True Blackaxe is magically enhanced and forms a bond with it’s wielder. The Blackaxe is considered a magical weapon and requires attunement. You may make a melee attack for 1d12 with proficiency, and you may add + 3 to all attack and damage rolls made with it. If it is used to kill an enemy with a melee attack, you regain a usage of your Blessing of Jakkar feature.

History. The True Blackaxe contains the souls of most of its former wielders. They may communicate telepathically with the wielder.

Hippo Sized. The True Blackaxe is extremely bulky. It requires a Strength score of 25 to use without disadvantage for most creatures, but the hippo-like build of the Giff allows them to wield it with a Strength score of 19. It uses the Strength modifier for attack and damage rolls.
