Prerequisites: 1st level, Hadozee

You are a Sacred Ape, a rare breed of Hadozee without the ability to glide. Sacred Apes manifest unique psionic powers, and often become monks or religious figures.

  • No Patagium? You loose the Glide feature of the Hadozee race. Your Charisma is reduced by 1, and your Wisdom is increased by 1.

  • Enhanced Abilities. You may increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1. The ability score you choose to increase determines the Enhanced Ability score that is used for some of your psionic abilities.

  • Psionic Simian. The Sacred Apes are blessed with latent psionic abilities. You gain a Psionic Talent die, the starting size of which is a d6. The size of this Psionic Talent die will icrease to d8 (5th level), d10 (11th level), and d12 (17th level). You can use this Psionic Talent to perform psionic abilities, including the following below:

    • Levitation. If your Psionic Talent die is available, you may choose to expend your psionic energy to levitate using a bonus action. For a number of rounds (6 seconds) equal to the maximum roll value of your current Psionic Talent die, you gain a flying (hover) speed equal to your movespeed. You may not levitate while wearing medium or heavy armor. For the duration of this effect, you may use your Enhanced Ability score as the ability score to determine your carry capacity or how much you can push or lift. You may use a bonus action to end the effects of Levitation. When Levitation ends, you lose the hover property and immediately fall if elevated above the ground, taking damage if appropriate. Your Psionic Talent die decreases by one die size after you use levitation.

    • Monkey Blast. If your Psionic Talent die is available, you gain the ability to strike an enemy that you can see with a blast of sacred energy as an Attack action. Its range is equal to 5x the size of your Psionic Talent die when you use this ability. It deals radiant damage equal to a roll of your current Psionic Talent die + your Enhanced Ability Score modifier. You must have a free hand to use the Monkey Blast and it is considered a ranged natural weapon spell attack. This attack may be be made using Four Weapon Fighting.

    • Ascendant Orangutan. If your Psionic Talent die is available, you may use your action and expend your psionic energy to briefly ascend to a different plane of reality. When you use Ascendant Orangutan, you enter the Border Ethereal for a number of rounds (6 seconds) equal to the maximum roll value of your current Psionic Talent die. You remain in the Border Ethereal until this duration expires or you use an action to end this effect. After using Ascendant Orangutan, your Psionic Talent die is decreased by one size.

      • During this time, you can move in any direction. If you move up or down, every foot of movement costs an extra foot. You can see and hear the plane you originated from, but everything there looks gray, and you can’t see anything more than 60 feet away.
      • While on the Ethereal Plane, you can only affect and be affected by other creatures on that plane. Creatures that aren’t on the Ethereal Plane can’t percieve you and can’t interact with you, unless a special ability or magic has given them the ability to do so. You ignore all objects that and effects that aren’t on the Ethereal Plane, allowing you to move through objects you percieve on the plane you originated from.
      • When the effect ends, you immediately return to the plane you originated from in the spot you currently occupy. If you occupy the same spot as a solid object when this happens, you take force damage equal to the distance to the nearest unoccupied space and are shunted to that location. If you occupy the same spot as a creature when this happens, the creature takes force damage equal to the distance to the nearest unoccupied space and it is shunted to that location.
      • This ability cannot be used when your are on the Ethereal Plane or a plane that doesn’t border it, such as Outer Planes.
    • Psionic Talent Die When you use psionic talents, you may be required to roll your Psionic Talent die. If you roll the maximum value when you do so, you must decrease the size of your Psionic Talent die by 1 size. If you roll the minimum value (1) when you do so, you may increase the size of your Psionic Talent die by 1 size. If you have a Psionic Talent die from another source, you only use the die with the highest size. When a Psionic Talent die is decreased or increased in sizes, it moves to the appropriate die increment (d4/d6/d8/d10/d12/d20). If it decreases in size while it is a d4, it is depleted. Whenever you complete a long rest, your Psionic Talent die returns to its starting size.
