Half Elf

While most believe half-elves of today are far more man than elf, none can deny that they exhibit traits emergent from their elven ancestry. Some half-elves have found their place as royalty, some as simple farmers. They do, however, tend to take great pride in their Elven blood.

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice each increase by 1.

Age. Half-elves age at much the same rate as humans, reaching adulthood at the age of 20. They live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 150 years.

Alignment.

Creature Type. You are a Humanoid.

Size. Half-elves are more or less the same size as humans, ranging from 5 to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision. Thanks to your elven heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Languages. You can read, speak, and write Common, Elven, and one language of your choice.

Mixed Heritage

When creating this character, select one of the following heritages.

Human Heritage

  • Skilled. You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice. You know an additional language of your choice.
  • Rounded. You may increase one ability score other than Charisma by 1.

High Elf Heritage

  • Magically Inclined. You know one cantrip of your choice from the Wizard spell list. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it (choose when you select this race).
  • Spatial Step. As a bonus action, you may slip between reality and teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Wood Elf Heritage

  • Forest Strider. Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
  • Wild Nature. You know the Primal Savagery cantrip. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for it.
