Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age. Gnomes mature at the same rate as humans, and most are expected to settle into adult life around the age of 40. They can live to 200 years on average, but it’s not too uncommon for them to reach 250 years of age.

Alignment. Gnomes tend to revel in mischief and disrupting the order of things, depending on their inclination. They tend towards Chaotic natures.

Creature Type. You are a Humanoid

Size. Gnomes are between 3 and 4 feet tall and weigh around 40 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Languages. You can read, speak, and write Gnomish and one other language that you and your DM are appropriate for your character.

Darkvision. Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Gnome Cunning. You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saves against magic.

Mischievous Nature. You know the Minor Illusion and Mold Earth cantrips. When you reach third level, you can cast the Enlarge/Reduce spell once per long rest. When you reach fifth level, you can cast Speak with Plants once per long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.

Silent Speech. You can speak telepathically to any creature within 30 feet of you that you are aware of. The creature understands the meaning of your words if it is capable of reasoning at that level. This is a one way communication, but the creature may respond back by other means. It does not inherently know where the telepathic speech is coming from.

Natural Mycologist. You gain proficiency with the Herbalism Kit. When in an area where mushrooms may be found, you may forage for mushrooms once per long rest. By spending 1 hour, you may roll a number of d4 equal to your proficiency bonus. Referring to the table below, you may collect one mushroom with a value at or below the number you rolled. If you rolled a greater number than was required for that mushroom, you may collect an additional number of mushrooms of the same type equal to the difference.

  • As an action, a creature can consume the mushroom or administer it to an incapacitated creature. The effects of the mushroom are considered magic. The effects of the mushroom do not apply to Constructs or Undead.

  • If any effect would modify the result of the forage roll, the final value may not exceed 24.

Mushroom Table

Roll a number of d4 equal to your proficiency bonus. Then, select a number of mushrooms to forage with a total roll value equal to or less than than your roll.
