1. Decide on Personal Character Sheet System.
    • The master copy of your Character Sheet will be stored inside of Foundry VTT
      • In the process of figuring out more concrete details here.
      • I’ll also have a backup Markdown copy
    • You can also keep a personal character sheet, I’ll compile some options here soon.
  2. Determine Ability Score Array.
    • Depending on your method, you may want to do this prior to building your character
    • Point Buy. You may use the standard Point Buy system, which you can calculate using the calculator here.
      • You can only choose Point Buy if you do not choose to roll (must be initial choice)
    • Standard Array. You have ability scores of (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) to distribute to abilities of your choice.
    • Roll for Stats. Roll 4d6 and drop the lowest score, and add the remaining die to produce one ability score value. Repeat this six times, and then apply the six values produced to the ability scores of your choice.
      • Three Options for this:
        • Roll with Physical Dice while I witness results
          • Either in person or over discord
        • Use Avrae bot in the Discord server
          • Command is !randchar
        • Ask me to roll stats for you with Physical Dice
      • You can always fall back to Standard Array after rolling, if you do not want your Rolled Array
  3. Select a Background
  4. Select a Race.
    • Select one of the playable Races for your character.
    • Each race has effects on your Ability Scores, and has a number of innate features.
      • Additionally, each race has Feats which are only available to members of that race.
  5. Select a Class
    • Select one of the playable Classes.
    • The classes have been rebalanced (especially Martial characters), so browsing the classes as listed here is recommended even if you have prior familiarity with D&D 5e.
  6. Select a Feat
    • Select one of the Feats available for selection at Level 1
  7. Cap Final Ability Scores
    • There is a hard cap of 19 on any Ability Score at level 1.
    • If your total for any Ability Score is above 19 after applying all modifiers, it is reduced to 19.
      • There are three factors that affect Ability Scores at level 1
        • Ability Score Array (Step 2)
        • Race (Step 4)
        • Starting Feat (Step 6)
          • Only some Feats have an impact on Ability Score
